OVIS Spotlight - What I Learned

This week while at the OIVS Pilot Launch Party on Sunday I learned how the goal of OVIS is to restore people’s trust in the news. They do this by allowing the members of the Hayward community to be able to write down any and all of their concerns for the community. In this way, accurate first-hand experience news can be reported instead of second-hand news. Another thing I learned about is how on the OVIS website after a story idea is posted it is uploaded onto the Story Idea Leaderboard. This is where members of the community can see and like the different story ideas posted. At the end of the week on Sunday after the time is up the story with the most votes is chosen to be written by a journalist.
