We currently have an opening of up to 3 months for an internship (Remote) within our Production team. To be considered for this position you must seek/hold an undergraduate / masters in video production or related discipline and be available to commence the internship for 3 months from hire.

Position Description:

The  production team collaborates with teammates, stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop strategies and tactics that bring business priorities and technical topics to life. The successful candidate will be part of a high energy team.

This internship with the Production team will give you the opportunity to deepen your video production skills and sharpen your analytic  thinking, hone your influencing skills, enrich your communication capabilities, and grow your network. You are required to work remotely for 20 hours per week.

In this role you will:

• Strategize on content for short videos/clips on ZapLife, YouTube, TikTok, and other social media and streaming platforms

• Cover, report ad shoot news stories via video with a sense of urgency

• Arrange interviews with people who can provide information about stories

• Work closely with internal teams to copy and correct errors in content, grammar, and punctuation

• Work closely with a video editor on editing video for final drafts adhering to editorial style/guidelines and the company's brand

• Determine the emphasis, length, and format of a story and organizes material accordingly

• Gather information about events through research, interviews, experience, or attendance at virtual functions.

• Researche and analyzes background information related to news stories to be able to provide complete and accurate information

• Pitche story ideas to the team

• Receive assignments and evaluate leads and tips to develop story ideas

• Ensure that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality

• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

Others:

• Liaise with all team members to ensure brand consistency related to content

• Ensure compliance with the law (e.g. copyright and data protection)

• Stay up-to-date with developments and generate new ideas to draw the audience’s attention

• Perform multiple duties as assigned. We are a start-up, so you must be willing to wear multiple hats and be flexible

Qualifications:

• The successful candidate should be seeking / hold an undergraduate/masters degree in the video production / similar

Skills and experience:

• Proactive, self-motivated, well organized, thoughtful, and assertive

• Effective time management skills and the ability to work across organizational boundaries

• Have sharp news judgment

• Know how to identify and develop an entertaining story – not just telling the reader what happened, but instead telling them why it matters

• Have organizational and prioritization skills

• Be adaptable as you must be able to adapt to writing and editing in our style and tone

• Have strong knowledge of a multitude of social media platforms

• Be detail-oriented

• Be able to be cooperative and collaborative;

• Be a creative thinker and writer, and problem solver with excellent research skills

Preferred experience:

• Video production: 1 year (Preferred)

• Writing skills: 1 year (Preferred)
